Oooops sorry....I just now re-read post #1 & realized that Dspace & Jhacker are integrated with the StartMenu app. So that means I have to install the other apps to make them run from StartMenu

Friends, is it possible to hide/unhide (remove) apps that are listed under All Programs?

Also there's a horizontal line after Bookmarks. How to add more such horizontal lines?

Finally can the text of the menu items be made bold or italic & can the font be changed?

I must say, this app has great usage and you guys are tweaking it into the most outstanding app out there for our ming!

I have one question, or maybe suggestion.
Is it possible, to have the start menu app show only on the home screen? As it is, it is always on top, even when it is hidden. I unchecked "sticky" thinking that would make it gain focus only when at the home screen level, but still, if you, i.e. are viewing a picture in full screen, you still see the startmenu icon, even when hidden.

Well, i might just be picky about it, so, if its not possible to have a setting to gain focus only when on the home screen, its fine.

Thanks so much for all the time and effort into making this one sure "must have" app!

Awesome...this app is simply awesome but a few questions on the app.

When I go to System, the sub-menu lists the following - Dspace, Jhacker, SysInfo, Ekonsole, Restart & ShutDown. Now I don't have Jhacker installed in my A1200 handset but when I tap Jhacker, it starts & asks me the question. Same is the case with Dspace but when I tap SysInfo, nothing happens. Similarly when I tap Scientific Calc (under JavaApps) or VistaClock (under Utility), nothing happens.

Do such apps need to be installed explicitly? The reason I am asking this is because, as already said, I don't have Dspace & Jhacker installed but both of them still run; so why don't the other apps run?

Also what does Lock Desktop do? The icons on the desktop anyway cannot be moved; so what's the use of Lock Desktop?

Actually Original App from author dose't have these apps in it.. I have Integrated Dspace and JHacker, shutdown and reboot in this app... So they will work straight out of installation.. and for all other apps u have to install them to get them working.. e.g Desktop Lock is link to qeilock.. if U have that app already installed it will work if not then it will not..

BTW, how do I make StartMenu run automatically at startup (like how the Start button comes up automatically in the Taskbar when Windows starts)?

Can anyone explain to me what does the "&" sign stands for? What does it do?

As far as this script is concerned it appears to act like a link and the app opens in front. It's useful if you have an app that doesn't open in full screen mode so it doesn't get hidden behind other applications on the desktop.

& after any command in linux means that program will be launched independently...
in startmenu context that means after launching the program startmenu will not wait for the launched program to get finished..
just try it once remove all the & after commands in .conf file and then launch the programs from startmenu, u will notice that shadow of startmenu will remain stuck on the desktop till u close the launched program..
(only those programs will work correctly which are launched from a script and already have a & in that e.g exmms)

First of all i am not author of this program.. all I have done is that I have integrated some apps in it (some icones also ) and edited translation file to make it in english.. so don't expect me to be fully correct.. so now are the answers for ur questions..

1) I think it's possible to remove apps that are listed in AllPrograms, there is no such option as such but its definitely stored in some conf file, just find out which one and u can do it..

also u can do a scan after installing new apps so that new app also comes under AllProgram menu..

2)Don't know abt this..

3) I think its possible( I will try and update this post if I will find something ot that sort).

and about starting this app automatically on startup U will have to flash ur phone with a firmware that supports startup1.txt file search the fourm and U will get some pointers to it.

Great program. I have added a new menu item ,"Program" which includes internal programs like File Mgr, Setup, .... I have noticed, there should only be 1 TAB before the menu catagories and 2 TAB's for the menu items. SPACES will mess up the alignment.
