I was using a previous version, but this one is outstanding!!!!Its a must have app, thanks Zhangjian and kiwiguy this is the best e-book reader i ever found.
Latest version is V 3.2.25. See near bottom of thread for file.
Those who read my last post on Anyview V3.1.9 know that Anyview is a great ebook reader - but did not handle word parsing very well - words were broken in random places at the end of lines.
For the past 2 weeks I have been working with zhangjian (the developer in China) and he has now fixed this issue (By "working" I mean he did all the coding and I did a little bit of testing!!)
Attached is the latest version of Anyview 3.1.16 which handles word parsing perfectly (see screen shots). The menus are all in English and we have added an English Help text. It is still a beta version - but I can not find any bugs with it. With this latest release, I am awarding Anyview the "best ebook reader for the A1200" position!
Features
• It can read files of type TXT* , HTML, PDB and UMD comic format as well as display gif and jpg files.
• Can handle UTF-8, GB2312 and Unicode - so can display Spanish and other language texts.
• Fully touch screen enabled
• Very fast and responsive
• Can open files directly from your phone - no need to add text file into jar file (as you have to do with Tequilacat & other ebook readers)
• Has great page turning capability - you touch page for page scroll and use joystick for line scroll. You can also turn on automatic scroll.
• Has Search, Jump to and bookmark features - everything you would expect of an ebook reader.
• Has fullscreen mode. Click on joystick to toggle between the two.
• It supports reading directly from ZIP files - so your ebooks can take up less space on your phone. NEW
• Provides flexible customization capabilities with more than 50 user-customizable settings such as font size, colors, screen layout, etc.
* Viewer can also view these files, but is very tiring to use Viewer as an ebook reader as has poor page turning.
How to Install AnyView
Uninstall any current version of Anyview first - or else install will fail!
- Download the zip file and unzip to get Fairy.jar file
- Copy to your SD card and install to SD card
- Edit permissions in registry file to permit it to read files or run Java Hacker app to do same thing. (See "Guide to Modding" sticky if you do not know what I am talking about!)
- After that don't forget to hold the stylus on the app's icon until popup menu appears and do Manage-->Permissions and click on OK to force the permission change to take effect.
- The first time you run it it will ask what phone you are on. Make sure you select "Moto E6/A1200" then Load.
- It will then display a screen with the option of setting the System Path location. This is a folder where it will write any "page snapshots" that you can create within the program (under Edit option). It will also look in this folder for any font files to use (you are able to create font files to change the default Anyview font). Setting this path is optional. You only need to set this once when you start Anyview for the first time. (I made mine SD/My Docs/Anyview). Thats it - you can now open files and read them!

Does it read PDF files?
Most e-books are in PDF format.

I am not able to read this PDB format,is there a specific encryption of sorts a pdb has to be encrypted in to be read by ANyview?
Also as i have seen it does not handle HTML very well too, it shows all the formatting instead of directly a text.
Im using a ROKR.
All I get with reading .pdb files is a line of text saying "GetRead not get" or something like that. What's going on?
From the developer's website: (translated by google from Chinese) - I am not sure if this answers your question as I am not familiar with .pdb file formats!
Anyview handles following formats:
TXT: UNICODE support
HTML: Currently can only read HTML as TXT. Being worked on to improve.
PDB:Currently only supports TEXt / PDB REAd types of documents
UMD:Currently only supports comic UMD format document
PNG:Supported
JPEG: more than 100K JPEG decoders included. Biggest file supported is 500K
GIF:supported, the future will support animation

i can browse through my memory card to the directory i have the ebooks in but i can't open them, i did the java hacker mod but i still have problems need help
Petososa - we have not heard from you in awhile!! Welcome back!
Are you trying to open a file with extension *.txt - if you try other file types (eg *.doc or *.pdf) then it will just sit there (no error msg).
Also I assume after running Java hacker you went to the icon and clicked on Manage-->Permissions-->OK to force permission change to take affect?

hi kiwiguy,
can you really open .pdf files? coz i can't open it using anyview.
for pdf files what i did is saved it as .txt then i was able to open it with anyview
was so happy to be able to read it
but the parsing seems to be jumbled the continuation of the sentence
is being placed after some paragraphs are inserted.
so i got problem with sequencing.
i dont know if this has something to do with the added bookmarks i did...
hope you can post again th latest version of anyview
thanks to you
you're so great that you made me love my rokr e6 more!!!
e6 really rocks!!!
No - you can NOT open pdf files using Anyview. You have to convert them to txt or html. See this link for some free tools that will allow you to do that ==> http://www.convertzone.com/
The latest English version is attached in first post - called fairy_153.zip
