Thread: [APP] ANYVIEW V3.2.25 ebook reader - Word breaks & in Eng

"Well. Seems that FBReader doesn't support .pdb files"
Sure it does. I'm reading a .pdb file I downloaded from Usenet right now. The problem with Anyview is it doesn't support all the variations of .pdb. Plus you can't search or scroll through .pdb's in Anyview, like you can in FBReader.
    Of course you can use a program like this;

    http://www.processtext.com/abcpalm.html

and just turn it into .txt and be done with it. Cheers.

    Thanks.
I was already looking for answers on google.
I found that FBR supports 4 types of .pdb formats (encodings I think), which can be checked in the 61-68 bytes of the file opened in notepad.

Aportis Doc (bytes 61-68 = "TEXtREAd")
    zTxt ("zTXTGPlm")
    plucker ("DataPlkr")
    mobipocket ("BOOKMOBI")

So I guess Anyview only supports TEXtREAd format.
Anyway... I am thinking about converting it to a .pdf or .txt format. But I'd loose the hyperlinks that can be found in .pdb format. Like in the index, references to other chapters and other stuff.
    I am very disappointed.

Yeah I know what you mean about losing the hyperlinks, but on the plus side you should (hopefully) be able to convert to html and not lose your links. Then save to your SD, and then use FBReader, or even better Opera, to open the file. I converted a .CHM book (750+ MB) to html so I could use it at my job. Works great this way with all links working. Good luck and thanks for the info.

Im having a weird problem with the latest version (and the others as well)
I just took a new 2gb card.. so copied directly form the original to the new.
Now Anyview doesn't recognise SD card at ALL
(i edited all the permissions ... still)

    Anyview handles following formats:

    TXT: UNICODE support
HTML: Currently can only read HTML as TXT. Being worked on to improve.
PDB:Currently only supports TEXt / PDB REAd types of documents
UMD:Currently only supports comic UMD format document
    PNG:Supported
JPEG: more than 100K JPEG decoders included. Biggest file supported is 500K
GIF:supported, the future will support animation
    sounds real great!
