I've insstalled it on my ming. It works.

Changes since 0.1 version:

It have more options in Configure section.
Here they are:
Maximum volume
HW Bass level
HW Treble level
Headset bass booster
3D audio
Use ISO spaced equalizer
Show alltype of files in file browser
Load random skin on start
Playlist Charset

Also you can save new equalizer settings (it has virtual keyboard)

Volume buttons are used for changing volume.
After close and open flip, exmms will be showed. You can minimalize it by red button. It has utomatic headset recognition.

But still it cannot play m4a files.

A few questions regarding eXMMS:

1. How to change the blue splash screen (the screen also happens to be the background when a user navigates to various directories to add MP3s to a playlist)? It's yuck!!

2. How to change the song position in a playlist? For e.g. a song is listed at the, say, 25th position in a playlist. How to move this song up to the, say, 10th position?

3. Is there any way to save user-defined equalizer settings?

4. There are quite a few buttons which do not do anything. For e.g. the Close & Roll-Up buttons that accompany the playlist window, the Sort, Info & Opts buttons (which come to the fore when the Misc button is tapped). Why?

Hi, first check if you have the latest DONGA version that could save the equalizer.

Second, you could change the skin and backgorund just replacing the file on the .system/QTdownload/exmms directory.

The program is under development so sometimes some (not very important) buttons are not working.. please wait.

Friends, another major problem with eXMMS. It skips a very tiny part of all the MP3s it plays & this happens at least twice with every MP3. Being a die-hard music lover, I find this too annoying & irritating.

I had compressed most of the MP3s to accomodate as many MP3s as I can in my 2GB TransFlash card.

The original MP3s were recorded at either 128 or 160 or 320 KBPS. Using a software named WavePad, I decreased the KBPS of the MP3s to 32 KBPS which reduced the size of the MP3s.

I think compressing the MP3s could be the reason why eXMMS is skipping the MP3s intermittently during playback (someone else in this forum suggested that this could be the cause why eXMMS is behaving eccentrically).

Now the question is what's the workaround to overcome this problem?

I have close to 1000 MP3s in my TransFlash card & since A1200 (.08p) doesn't support more than 2GB TransFlash card, I had to compress most of the MP3s to accomodate all of them in my TransFlash card.

I didn't experience anything like this in Real Player but after having used eXMMS & seeing the difference in output between eXMMS & Real Player, I DONOT want to go back to Real Player; so, if possible, please suggest a concrete solution.

I hardly have any idea about the technicalities involving MP3 compression....so don't know what you mean by "hard" but I believe you haven't read the entire post. The one & only reason why I compressed the MP3s was to accomodate ALL the MP3s (nearly 1000 of them) in my 2GB TransFlash card. I was told by someone that to reduce the size of a MP3, it has to be recorded at a lower bit rate & that's what I did. Had A1200 supported more than 2GB TransFlash card which would have accomodated all the MP3s uncompressed, I would have never compressed the MP3s but, as they say, to gain something, you have to lose something. So I had to compromise on the quality of the MP3s at the cost of accomodating all the MP3s. If I want all the uncompressed MP3s in my phone, I would have had to buy atleast 10 2GB TF cards (each of which costs 1600 bucks in India which is quite a lot), if not more, but my pocket doesn't allow me to do so Moreover, my A1200 is my secondary option for listening to MP3s (my PC is my primary option).

Anyway, any solution to overcome my problem?
