It seems that no one has any problems with the songs skipped forwards around 5 seconds randomly? Just about every song I play, it skips forward like 5 seconds in the song at least 2 times. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the songs because they work find in real player.

Anyone have a solution for this? It's annoying not being able to fully listen to the song.

Are you referring to the last few seconds of the song being skipped? This is a known issue and one that has to be addressed in code. Seems to me the play buffer is being reinit on a song change rather than appended.

I've also found that I can get the gui back without affecting song play after losing it in the background or shutting the flip simply by restarting the exmms.lin script. I havn't noticed any adverse resource issues doing this... sometimes up to a dozen times in one session, but I wonder if a restart script that only relaunches the skin component might be better.

Also, be careful around those qtproxy borders! I have a habit of cleaning the crevice schmutz off my screen with the stylus. I've rendered the gui useless once by resizing the proxy window, then caused a seg fault by pulling an unpoplated drop down menu from the extreme top left corner of the same proxy window. Have to be careful on this one, once qtproxy seg faults I couldn't find any way to recover the full gui, but the play time and current song kept popping up in whatever else I was doing lol

Yes, if you use the styles in the BLACK top border, it seems the windows QT that the program is using appears. Maybe it is possible to move up the player instead of the green sector.

This tool could be upgraded easily as the code is public domain (GNU).
We need more developers to help blackhawk on this.

Suggestion: I am using the .PKG program with the icon, and leave the icon on the main desktop below, so as so as the flip is open, by default it appears on the main screen. Easily for clicking again the program.

Also i notice that the winamp scroll is still working in the desktop even after i close it. (this was done by moving the exmms windows with my stylus.
So, maybe it is possible to add more tools on the desktop!!! similar to SCREEN3 option.

A1200 hardware is excellent, we need more linux developers now......

No, actually this is a different problem. Even around 20 seconds into the song, the song would skip 5 seconds ahead. then at like 1 minute and 20 second, it would do it again. It seems like I am the only one having this problem. It doesn't seem like the end of the song gets cut off for me.

I'm using the E6 btw, but it doesn't seem like any of the other E6 users are having this problem either.

Excellent idea Droopy, one I was planning on doing once I finish tweaking my Audacious branded mpkg lol Right now I've got Blackhawks scripts scattered all over the place and generally run from eKonsole while I mess with them

I'd love to see the source. I've got all the various links for setting up the cross compiler environment and such bookmarked, but I'm just waiting until my real-world workload dies down as we're in the middle of a pretty intense project (gotta love those 16hr days)

I'm anxious to do some real work with the A1200 as I did purchase it primarily as a pocket linux box... it just happened to have a cell phone app lol Winter's fast approaching the Great White North so it won't be long before I'm stuck indoors with a mouse in my hand rather than outside with a cold beer.

Using EXMMS on MOTOMING (Firmware .08P ) from India

FIX 1) I am also experiencing same problem, that the song gets 5-sec skip at few places in the middle of song which is very BAD behaviour. Just imagine you are listening to some classic which is filled with meaningful beautiful words and whole line in the song jumps to next line, ITS TOOOOOOOOO BAD. Hope BLACKHAWKE is reading this and will find some debugging on the FREE MING presented by MOTOROLAFANS.

FIX 2) The Left-Right Volume BALANCE is still not working.

FIX 3) Green Bar at top still displayed

FIX 4) On MotoMing, when flip closed the software goes in background and never appears until you run LIN file again.

FIX 5) Instead of using an option to select between HEADSET and SPEAKERS manually, it will be better if HEADSET automatically starts when HEADSET is inserted. Please note this least priority request.

I also want to SUGGEST some important things to make this software un-beatable.

SUGGESTION 1) Add feature to play wav and other common type of audio files like wma.

SUGGESTION 2) When flip closed the use of Volume button (at left side of Ming) should be used to change songs to NEXT or PREVIOUS songs.

SUGGESTION 3) Should not be a problems to add video play feature at least for XVID videos at 30 FPS.

THERE ARE MANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS I THOUGHT TWO WEEK BACK BUT FORGOT MOST. WILL POST THEM HERE LATER.

Good to know someone else is having the same problem, thought I was going to be alone on this one.

About your Fix 5, I think it's fine the way it is. I hate when I accidentally unplug my headphones and the music goes full blast. Also, it takes longer to turn off the music and put it away because you have to shut down the program before you can unplug the headphones or else music is going to leak.

However, if people want this to be fixed, I would recommend putting an option saying "Automatically detect headphones"

people..how to add playlist to this player? it opens n luks awesome but i'm stuck in knowin how to add a song list n play the songs..plz let me know..

I use this trick to make playlists, as there is no direct method to save new Playlist files by typing name.

1) I create text file with any desired name and extention .M3U (MYSONGLIST1.M3U) from outside this software.

2) Add folder in playlist or add songs one by one

3) Select "Save playlist" option and click on MYSONGLIST1.M3U and say replace when asked. Now you can load this playlist next time.

I hope this is genuine eXMMS and not the fake one. I uninstalled the working QTProxy version of Exmms, restarted phone. Then installled this version. After really a long duration the MPGK BELL Ring was heard. Then restarted phone. Surprisingly the phone started with a complete NEW ANTIQUE DESIGN YELLOW THEME. There was one icon at top which I clicked but nothing happened.

My Mobile is is Motorola A1200 with firmware .08P

Now I am uninstalling this version and will holdback until new stable version comes. I really dont know if I can make the previous version working or not.

ARE U SURE YOU UPLOADED FILE FOR EXMMS 0.21 AND NOT JUST A THEME. I M CONFUSED AND SCARED.

Playing with this right now on my A1200. Note that the copyright states

XMMS frontend for Motorola E680/E680i/A780

No mention of the A1200 and running from ekonsole I get

.//bin/winskin: error while loadking shared libraries: libqte-mt-xscale-r.so.2: cannot open shared library object file. No such file or directory.

I don't believe this is A1200 ready at this time. I compared it to the latest Blackhawk package and this one is significantly different as its missing the qtproxy which Blackhawk used to make xmms work for us. I will continue to play around with this tonight as I also noticed they have the wma & mp4 plugins included. Be great if we could get it to work!

@indiacam - definately not a theme dude. its easy to verify what your loading before you commit it, as .pkg/.mpkg extension is simply .tar or .tgz (.tar.gz) which can be viewed or extracted with the unix tar utility. Note that I didn't install it, but simply extracted it on my PC and copied to my TF, so I can't comment on package installation on A1200.
