Hey.. i first installed the chinese version..

then i downloaded the english version.. extracted the files

i copied and replaced the smart asst folder in QTDownLoad folder.. in the .system folder of the memory card

then i copied the script in the cardregistry (open using wordpad) and replaced the entry in the cardregistry file of the memory card..

and restarted.... it works fine..

Hello all,
I was reading the install notes from the previous pages and i was trying to do the manual install. Its saying that you have to uncompress the cardregistry and copy it to the TF and edit, but I was looking at some of the info in the cardregistry and it had alot of other info that I notice... for instance winamp and ghost, etc. Funny thing too, the icon is in english but when opened, it is still in chinese (after copying the english version contents onto smartasst)

Would I need to copy and paste the whole cardregistry info or a part of it? if a part, which part?

Again, im talking about the cardregistry that you have to uncompress and copy on to the tf.

i can't find the "install2" to get this app running. the icon shows up on the application page but when selected nothing happens. when trying to open the from the file manger the files don't exsist.... any help would be appreciated.

In the English version the file is called SmartAsst.lin not Install2.lin!! I have updated the install instructions in the FAQ sticky.

Which verson are you using? I just looked in the English version and the CardRegistry file only contains the following lines (make sure you are using CardRegistry file - not the Registry file)

actually it was located in the "smartasst2_3_549" rar. Within that file, there is another rar that can be extracted called "cardregistry". I think I figured it out though. Its translating fine and working too. thanks for the reply.

i have a doubt, i already ahve backup and restore installed in my rokr. will it get installed again when i install smartasst.
or do i ahve to uninstall it before installing this?

Backup and Restore and SmartAsst are 2 different apps - they create different backup files with different contents. You can have both installed together.

Hello All

I've searched this thread and read everything, and done everything and I still can't get Smart Assistant to run on my phone (A1200) - the program icon is there in the menu but nothing happens when I click on it - I replaced the necessary files as described (.system folder) and followed the steps suggested here (the manual install ect.) It just still won't load the program. I tried to install Superman and the same thing happened, the icon appeared but would not load - anyone have any suggestions because clearly I'm doing something wrong? And now I'm so confused - the directions seems simple enough - (the only thing I can think of is that I replaced the original card registry and not, as read some where, just added the script to the end, which was my error - not sure if that matters)?

Could someone help?
