If I turn this on, does that mean even though I'm in a Cingular coverage region, I might end up roaming on a non-AT&T network; hence incurring roaming charges?
Hello Everyone,
So after much demand i have created a Cingular/AT&T ENS Script. Please take note that this will only work with Cingular/AT&T customers.
For those who dont know what cingular ens is ..
Enhanced Network Selection (sometimes referred to as Enhanced Network Service, or simply ENS) extends GSM by making it possible for a GSM cellular device (e.g., handset) to be "homed" OTA (over the air) to different networks. This makes it possible for Cingular Wireless, while it is still operating two networks post merger with AT&T Wireless, to "home" a given cellular device to either the "orange" (old Cingular Wireless) or "blue" (old AT&T Wireless) network. That can improve performance for certain customers because without ENS a GSM device will only select a non-home network when a "usable" home network signal doesn't exist, even when a non-home network has a better signal or when the home network has no available capacity. Instructions :
Step 1 : Unrar the attached file using winrar or 7-zip. You will get the following file "Cingular ENS.tcs"
Step 2 : Launch Radiocomm and wait for the green light.
Step 3: Click on Step Up buttons ( Shown in the Picture)
Step 4 : Locate the Script you extracted, type in a label like i did in the example below, make sure the script type is motorola p2k commands, and then click "SET" After that click the X on that window.
Step 5: Click on the button you labeled and then it should take no longer then 1-3 seconds and your done!
Step 6: Enjoy having Cingular ENS!

Good Luck Everyone!

Cingular=AT&T so there is no charge for it. I actually made this for two people a while ago privately and they were so happy with it that i decided to make it public.
This will not cause any charges or anything, just better signal in some areas.

i applied the ENS script and my EDGE and internet don't work anymore![]()
i'm about to redo the EDGE fix but what gives w/ the internet:
anyone else have this challenge?
im runnin 59xpV2. still have not updated my sim card and don't wanna as i've heard that reception worsens. there's a whole conspiracy theory behind cingular branded sim cards vs. new att branded ones...
also, i haven't changed any of the old cingular internet settings after att took over... not sure if that'd make a difference. my mms/sms still works fine.
any help would be rad![]()
I installed this last night along with the "automatic network time & voicemail" fix. I have the 32P-OENT "XP windows" monsterpack firmware installed. Everything works great, but
Since last night, I have received MANY text messages from "55555" with very confusing messages. They all look pretty much like this (with some minor changes in the numbers):
//KNpt:11WV17PN863
SA=1:13123149690
SI=26284
PN=(((UI,18479223801),(UA,0),(OS,1)))
I put my SIM card back in my old phone (V365) and the messages stopped. Put it back in the a1200r and they started again!
I'm a cingular customer in the Chicago area.
Any Ideas????
Thank you!
Dennis

I am getting a message from 55555 too. I haven't installed anything.
Message says ?\
//KNpt:11WV17 PN 378
SA=140472596
90 SI=20129
SB=1
I got the message 9 times last night. The last few messages had my son and husbands cell numbers in the body of the message.
If you figure out anything, please post...
thanks
