do you need usbnet enabled to use this?
Here is a small utility to control network - telnet, smbd USB. The advantage over the old inetd and smbd packages is that there is an interface. Most of the rest is stolen from those packages. (and the interface is stolen from dgenius...)
What still doesn't work is setting the IP address of the USB port. I still haven't figured out what the best way to do this is. (but if you use the default, you won't have a problem)
If you need it, you can easily edit the file "commands", and add a button for ifconfig, or add it at the end of the commands already executed for some button....
Below is a screenshot.
I'm sorry that it looks so ugly. But it is easily themable.... just change the background.png file and close.png, and move the buttons around by editing "commands".
P.S. I think we need to decide on standard places to put things, so that each package will not have to include everything.

New version. This also includes fakeDSM from http://www.mykingdom.com.br/en/a1200...00-fakeDSM.jsp , which lets you connect with the phone to the computer network even with java applications (those usually insist on going through GPRS.)
This version also displays the current IP address of the usb port, to make it easier to connect.
I have removed sshd till there's a good way to install sshd. (but if you want it, just uncomment the right part in the file "commands")
Notice that to use this, you also need a driver for networking over the USB port for the other computer (e.g. desktop). This is already included in some linux distributions, and is a driver on windows. Follow the instructions of how to telnet to A1200.

Oh man, that's awesome, I hope it works, testing it now.
I've been looking for something like this for ages!
Thanks!

wow, stolen but for good, good work,i'll try as soon as possible.![]()
why does the sshd not have a switch like the others?![]()
Sorry... I didn't have the sshd daemon - I only added it because the inetd icon had ssh written on it. But now I see that there is a package with sshd in it, so I'll add it. I'll also add oop's FakeDSM (where I stole the icon from, btw).Originally Posted by wollybyte
oh i'll wait for your update, because i was unsucessful with telnet
GREATE Idea.....now we have only one icon instead of three or four or five or more icons.Originally Posted by ghostwheel
When someone creates a good web browser (that don't have a lock with the GPS/Internet connection like opera and operamini), then my HTTPD Server will become more useful and you can put it in you Config program.
And about SSHD, you will have some problems with it because it is hard to setup the program (many required user actions). I think it is better to keep your program easy to install (unless you find a way to automate the RSA key installation - something like "open the key file with my program").

I've just made a few changes in gpSP.
I uploaded a new version. This one displays the IP address of the USB port.
Notice that clicking on "USB on" will set the IP address of the port to 192.168.16.2
ahh!
how do i uninstall this?
it messes up my phone menu!
the icon is so big :P
